I want to thank you for stopping by my website! If you've been clicking around awhile, looking at some of my photos or reading about my other services, most likely you've come to this link because you want a professional photo session, or you’re at least looking for pricing. If you decide to contact me through my contact form, please make sure you give your home phone or your cell phone number. No work numbers please. We must talk; I do not give price quotes through email replies, sorry.
Portrait sessions, family portrait sessions, and pet portrait sessions—they're all adventures for me! Although most of us do well in front of a camera, some of us don’t—and that includes me, believe it or not. A studio session for some can be a nervous and uncomfortable situation. After all, it's not every day you become the center attraction with lights beaming at you and all eyes on you—including that big, one-eyed monster, the camera.
As a professional, I'm supposed to be the person capturing your best look and creating a photo you can be proud of. But that’s sometimes easier said than done. Most guys fall into the “don’t” category where women, on the other hand, tend to love the attention. When first entering my studio or on location, I know immediately if you’re nervous or uncomfortable, and it's my job to ease that feeling. Just remember—I’m not a dentist; I'm a photographer, and you will feel no pain.
Another thing to keep in mind is that, when you show up for your photo session, if your attitude is, “Okay, let's get this over with, I got things to do!” the results may not turn out well. Always give yourself enough time. After all, that's why you hired me in the first place—to capture a nice photo. Attitude can make or break the shot.
You may ask yourself, why is this guy telling me this in the first place? Experience! My point? Some sessions can and do last longer than 1-1/2 hours depending on the subject. As a professional photographer, I'll shoot for as long as it takes, at my expense in most cases, to make you look your best.
Always feel free to bring a few objects that mean something to you, and let's not forget about your pet's favorite toy or blanket. For your people subjects, a change of clothes is nice for variety. For family portrait sessions, be certain that not everyone is wearing stripes, which can be distracting in the final portrait. Also, white clothes against a white backdrop tend to disappear.
You and the people you care about are worth the best possible portraits. By seeing ourselves at our best, it helps us to be and look our best. :)
Regarding prices for a standard session, please contact our studio to discuss all options. Prices can change depending on the type of photography you wish, the editing needed—for example: removing skin blemishes, skin-softening techniques, and the digital replacement of backgrounds—the printing desired, the number of people, and the expected duration of the shoot. We will also shoot at a desired location of your choice with 15 miles of Pittsburgh, Pa. Longer distances will incur an additional charge for travel times from my studio to your chosen location and back again.
